Always verify any tournament before traveling. Schedules may get changed on short notice and may have changed after printing.

In addition to these state-level events there are around 150 local wrestling tournaments offered each year by our seventeen regional associations. For local schedules check our regional association pages.

Birth certificates or proper proof of age will be required. You cannot register without proof of age or USA cards! If you do not have one, they will be available at registration for $25.00. Do not forget your card. If you do, you must purchase another one without reimbursement.

NOTE: Certification will be required at regional and national events.

Athletes and coaches: If your USAW card has been destroyed or lost, you MUST replace it at a cost of $5.00 prior to the tournament. Allow seven to ten business days to process your card if ordering it through the State office. You can call your club leader/coach/association director or write the State office for a replacement. Do not show up at any tournament without it. If it cannot be verified, you must purchase another card without reimbursement. No rosters will be accepted at events. Purchase the cards at the event if there is not enough time to mail your roster to the State office.

A $25.00 service charge will be added to any returned checks.

Club championship rosters: If you do not have one, request the form from Duane Morgan. You must mail in your roster postmarked seven days prior to the specific State Championship to:

CAUSAW, Inc.
P.O. Box 1238
Hollister, CA 95023

SPECIAL NOTE: In order to coach in the corner at ALL State Championships, a floor pass is required. To obtain a floor pass, a coach must have a current USAW Coaches Card ($20.00) and a minimum of a Copper Level Coaches Certification. The floor pass must be worn at all times when on the floor. Arm Bands will be given out. Be prepared to show your current USAW coaches card, copper certification card and personal identification.

Copper Clinic: 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday night at each State Tournament - cost $20.00

All State Tournaments are two-day wrestling events.

Any one interested in bidding for a State Championship should contact their Association Chairman who will request a bid form from Duane Morgan. Bids should be received by October 1st. All bids go to the Site Selection Committee for their recommendation, and the final vote is made by the State Board of Directors at the Fall Meeting.

Any Coaches that wish to apply as a State Coach for the National trips should request an application from:

Greg Chappell
email: chappel@jps.net
or locate application on our web site at www.ca-usaw.org.

Any Coach applying must be a USAW member, have a minimum of a Copper Coaching Level Certificate and a letter of recommendation from their Association Chairman. The Coaches Selection Committee will review and recommend the final selection.

The California USA Wrestling National Staff is organizing various Junior Regional trips to provide athletes with more opportunities to qualify for the Junior National Championships.
