Goals and Audience
California USA Wrestling uses this web site to promote the sport of amateur wrestling for women and men of all ages, and to provide detailed, accurate, and timely information about our state and regional programs. While our major wrestling emphasis is on the International Styles (Freestyle and Greco-Roman) as sanctioned by FILA, we also encourage scholastic programs for kids, high school, and college.

The people using this site consist primarily of athletes, coaches, officials, parents, and fans of the sport of amateur wrestling. We make a special effort to attract an audience within the state of California, but the general information and links at this site will be of interest to persons worldwide.

We welcome crosslinks with the following types of sites:

• Recognized national and international wrestling governing bodies
• State USAW organizations
• California State schools and colleges offering wrestling programs

We may link to other sites that are consistent with our goals and which will be of interest to our readers. To suggest your site for inclusion in our links, just send us mail and tell us about your resource. We will give individual consideration to sites requesting links.

Editorial Review
Determinations of compliance with these guidelines are made by the State Office of California USA Wrestling, which has final authority for content management at this site. We will make a good faith effort to ensure that all sites we link to are consistent with our goals. Due to the dynamic nature of the Internet, it is impossible to guarantee that all sites included in our links will continue to meet our inclusion guidelines over time. If you feel that any site in our links fails to comply with these guidelines, please notify us and we will promptly review the site again. Geographic Scope
Resources must be either national or international in value, or located in California. Our site offers very detailed coverage for California but usually does not list local resources in other areas unless the sites have other value-added features of general interest. We provide links to national directory services that can help you find resources in your own area.

Commercial Content
We do not sell advertising space on this site. We may choose to link to commercial sites that sell wrestling-related items, athletic equipment, or other products that meet our quality standards and which we feel may be of interest to our visitors. We reserve the right to request link fees from commercial sites which we choose to include in our links. Commercial sites or other patrons providing financial support to this site shall not participate in or influence editorial decisions. Commercial sites must meet all other qualifying criteria as listed in these policies.

Disqualifying Content
We do not link to sites that have any of the following characteristics:

• Sites with sexually explicit content, profanity, vulgarity, or sensational content not appropriate for children.
• Sites that promote gambling or betting.
• Sites that promote any illegal activity.
• Sites that are technically unstable, frequently down, or so badly designed that we are unable to view them without difficulty. This includes sites that are still "under construction" or not being maintained in a timely manner.
• Sites that contain partisan political content or potentially libelous material.
• Sites devoted to professional wrestling.
• Sites that advertise specific health products (e.g., fitness pills and potions).
• Sites that advertise individual personal fitness trainers or other individual professional services.
• Personal home pages.
• Sites that are not respectful of human diversity, or which demean or belittle others.

Privacy Policy
This site makes no attempt to identify or track individual visitors to this site, with the exception of collecting standard server traffic logs which include the IP address of the host computer from which visits are made and the pages viewed during the visits. These log files are routinely analyzed for aggregate statistical purposes only, but are available for closer inspection if needed to investigate security incidents. This site does not participate in user tracking schemes intended to record how users move across the web through the use of cookies.

This site does not maintain a database of registered users and does not enter the names of persons who contact the site into bulk mailing lists. The site may retain the email addresses of persons who voluntarily contact the site as needed for followup on such individual contacts; in such cases, names are never sold, rented, or loaned to other organizations.

This site routinely publishes the results of California state championship wrestling tournaments, including the names, weights, and ages of persons who have placed at these events. California USA Wrestling considers these tournament results to be news, and publishes the results as a matter of public record. This site routinely publishes the names, telephone numbers, and email addresses of persons who are associated with California USA Wrestling as event contacts, members of our Board of Directors, board members of our regional Associations, and other prominent persons in the wrestling community.

If you wish to have your name or your child's name removed from this site send us mail and we will promptly honor your request.

Technical Policy
Our site is implemented using external commercial hosting services that are capable of meeting our goals of continuous availability, crisp performance, and high security and recoverability.

This site is designed to be responsive on a 14.4 Kbps modem, still a common connection. This is done primarily by enforcing a maximum page size of 50 Kb including both text and graphics. Inline graphics are used sparing. To help low-bandwidth users, blind users with text-to-speech interfaces, and to optimize speed we provide text alternative tags for all inline graphics. We make extensive use of stylesheets and table formatting to convey a clean look without using inline graphics. Pages have a “liquid” design and avoid fixed sizes for tables and other display items. They should display cleanly in a variety of window sizes.
